CBSE Releases Additional Practice Papers for Class 10 and 12 Board Exams 2024

The Central Board of School Education (CBSE) has taken a significant step to aid students in their preparation for the 2024 board examinations. On September 8, CBSE made subject-wise sample question papers and marking schemes available, covering the entire syllabus for classes 10 and 12. These materials are designed to help students excel in their exams and include 50 percent competency-based questions.

Students can easily access these additional practice questions on the CBSE Academic website at cbseacademic.nic.in. Importantly, these sample questions are provided free of cost on the CBSE website, making them accessible to all. They are specifically crafted to assist students in addressing application-based questions that require higher-order thinking skills and to enhance their understanding of fundamental concepts in various subjects.

CBSE has issued a public alert, stating, “It has come to the notice of the board that schools and students are being asked to access the CBSE practice papers from certain private publisher’s sites. The public is advised not to be misled by any claims and promotions.”

Furthermore, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) wants to clarify that they have not collaborated with Educart or any other private entity to create these additional practice papers for Class 10 and Class 12. Rama Sharma, a spokesperson for the board, emphasized this point.

Back in March, CBSE had already released subject-specific sample question papers for the upcoming academic year 2023-24, targeting students in classes 10 and 12. These sample papers not only include questions but also provide insights into the board exam’s marking scheme. By offering a glimpse into the exam format, including the number of sections and types of questions (objective, short answer, long answer), these materials help students better prepare for their exams.

Sample papers play a crucial role in helping students understand how marks are distributed among different sections or topics in their exams. This understanding enables them to plan their study time and effort effectively, focusing on areas that carry higher weightage in the exam.
