The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently announced an extension of the deadline for schools to submit the list of candidates (LOC) for classes 10 and 12. Initially set to conclude on September 18, the registration process, which began on August 18, has been extended until September 28, providing schools with additional time to complete this crucial step.
This decision to extend the deadline comes after representations and requests from various schools across the nation, highlighting the need for more time due to various administrative factors.
Key Dates for CBSE Board Exams 2024
Schools now have the opportunity to submit the LOC between September 29 and October 5, but it’s important to note that a late fee will apply during this period.
Additionally, CBSE has provided clear instructions to schools regarding the handling of direct admissions, especially for classes 10 and 12. Schools are expected to refer pertinent instances to the relevant regional office for smooth processing.
Furthermore, schools have been directed to compile a list of requests for subject changes made by students and promptly send it to the regional office for necessary action.
The CBSE board exams for the academic year 2024 are scheduled to commence on February 15, which underscores the significance of adhering to the updated submission deadlines.
Important Guidelines and Schedule
CBSE had previously shared a detailed schedule for classes 10 and 12, covering various aspects such as admissions, subject change requests, attendance records, and the list of candidates. This comprehensive document, titled “Framework and Significant Guidelines in The Context of the Secondary and Senior Secondary Certificate Examination for Guidance of the Schools,” outlines the required actions for schools.
Notably, schools are instructed to gather attendance data for classes 10 and 12 until January 1 and submit it by January 5. Any deficiencies in this area will be brought to the attention of the schools by January 15, allowing them until January 20 to make the necessary corrections.
Registration for Classes 9 and 11
In addition to the preparations for classes 10 and 12 board exams in 2024, CBSE has initiated the registration process for candidates in classes 9 and 11 who are set to appear in the board exams in 2025. Schools play a pivotal role in ensuring that this registration process proceeds smoothly.
The official notice from CBSE emphasizes the importance of timely submission of data for candidates, stating, “As submission of the registration data by adhering to the schedule is very important, the schools are therefore requested to plan timely submission of data of the candidates.”
Candidates whose names are submitted via the online registration process will be eligible to sit for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations in the academic session 2024-25.
It’s essential for schools and educational institutions to stay updated with these crucial deadlines and guidelines to ensure a seamless flow of events leading up to the CBSE board exams in 2024 and beyond.
