CBSE Extends Deadline for List of Candidates (LOC) Submission for Classes 10 and 12
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced an extension of the deadline for schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) for classes 10 and 12. The original registration process, which commenced on August 18, was initially set to conclude on September 18. However, CBSE has now extended the deadline, and today, September 28, marks the final day for LOC submission. It’s essential to note that there will be no further extensions beyond this date.
Schools have the option to submit the LOC between September 29 and October 5, but this will incur a late fee. Additionally, schools must handle direct admissions for classes 10 and 12 separately, referring relevant cases to the appropriate regional office. They are also instructed to compile a list of student requests for subject changes and submit it to the regional office.
The CBSE board exams for 2024 are scheduled to take place from February 15. The board has introduced significant changes to the exam pattern and marking scheme for these exams. You can read more about these changes in our article titled “CBSE Board Exams 2024: Major Changes in Exam Pattern, Marking Scheme.”
CBSE previously shared a comprehensive schedule for classes 10 and 12, covering admissions, subject changes, attendance, and the list of candidates. These measures are designed to ensure a smooth and organized process leading up to the 2024 board exams. The detailed guidelines can be found in the document titled “Framework and Significant Guidelines in The Context of the Secondary and Senior Secondary Certificate Examination for Guidance of the Schools.”
By January 1 of the academic year, schools are required to collect attendance data for classes 10 and 12 and submit it by January 5. Any deficiencies in this data will be brought to the schools’ attention by January 15, and they will have until January 20 to make the necessary corrections.
CBSE has also commenced the registration process for candidates in classes 9 and 11 who will be appearing in the board exams in 2025. An official notice emphasized the importance of timely submission of registration data, stating, “As submission of the registration data by adhering to the schedule is very important, the schools are therefore requested to plan timely submission of data of the candidates.”
Candidates whose names are submitted through the online registration process will be eligible to sit for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations in the academic session 2024-25.
